Typical representation project for a client who wanted to get in to the subsea pipeline and terminal maintenance segment of the oil and gas industry.
They had a well proven product with a track record on the Norwegian Continental shelf and also in the Far east market, however they had been struggling to get a foothold in the UK market.
Consultare signed a contract to develop the market in the UK and enhance their presence, which also included a clear strategy to be a major supplier to the majors – Bp, Shell, Total etc –
The product – Isolation of pipelines, with a purpose of changing out valves or new tie-ins to be executed, by the use of a Smart Plug, was a challenging task. The reason for this are that no operator of pipelines would like to see any products inside their pipeline in case of blockages or similar so they would loose production, and also they need to minimize down time, to avoid deferring production.
Consultare engaged in this project on behalf of the client and after a relatively short time managed to secure contracts for the client’s service with the major’s and also with most terminals around the coast of the UK.
